Refers to SK Dikti No.163/KEP/DIKTI/2007 about ‘Arrangement and Codification of Programme’ and and SK Rektor UB No. 516/SK/2011, Program of Information Technology and Computer Science (PTIIK) was first established on October 27th, 2011. PTIIK is a combination of two programme in Brawijaya University (UB). They are Software Engineering Programme under Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science Programme under Faculty of Science. Both of these programmes have similarities and suitability in core of disciplinary knowledge. On December 10th, 2014 PTIIK officially become a faculty named Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM) based on SK Dikti No. 8073/EI/OT/2014 about Organization and Work Procedure of Brawijaya University.
FILKOM is located in Jl. Veteran No. 8 Malang and has two departments. Each department offers three programme choices as follows:
Department of Informatics Engineering offers three programmes as follows:
- (S-2) Master of Computer Science Programme
- (S-1) Informatics Engineering Programme
- (S-1) Computer Engineering Programme
Department of Information System offers three programmes as follows:
- (S-1) Information System Programme
- (S-1) Information Technology Programme
- (S-1) Information Technology Education Programme
FILKOM intended to meet the standard of professional human resource in the field of information technology, FILKOM expected to be able to linked the industry and public needed with academic curriculum. Based on that reason FILKOM develop competency-based curriculum, which is supported by the applied knowledge and software engineering. Through that program, FILKOM expected to produce graduates who are competitive, have entrepreneurial spirit and have adequate information technology knowledge to support the advancement of the nation.
